El Candado Pedro Ximenez Valdespino is a sweet wine made from raisins of the Pedro Ximénez variety aged in American oak barrels using the solera and criaderas system.

It is a great generous wine, intense, creamy and fruity with an elegant grape scent.

"Candado" in Spanish means padlock, in fact, each bottle of Valdespino Pedro Ximenez El Candado contains one, following an ancient tradition that is still preserved today and protects this delicious wine from anyone wishing to steal a glass. Pedro Ximénez grapes are harvested extra ripe and dried in the sun until they become raisins. The wine is then aged for over 10 years which gives it a very dark color.
