Prato Biscuits - also commonly known as almond cantucci or cantuccini - are part of the Tuscany confectionery tradition that sees them as a perfect end meal in combination with Vin Santo. 

Since 1858 our biscuits have been baked daily and packed one by one by hand in the classic Blu Mattei bag. 

Prepared with flour, sugar, almond, eggs and pine nuts they do not contain preservatives, animal fats or vegetable fats. 

The hatboxes have been used by the Biscuits Factory since the 1920s to ship our products. 

A common object in homes, up until the 1960s, for the non-accessory use of hats in menswear and womenswear up until that time; Ernesto Pandolfini thought of using hatboxes as shipping boxes. 

In 2008, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the foundation of our Biscuit Factory, we created this Mini hatbox with 200g of our Biscuits; ideal as a gift pack, it can then be reused and recycled as a container for different types of objects: clothes pegs, for toiletries, etc.

The historicity and tradition of an Italian company that relives in the classic historical boxes with decorations from the past. Love at first sight and at first taste.

It was 1840 when the apothecary Rocco Garzotto had the happy intuition: to mix together what the ancients called the food of the gods, namely honey, with egg white, sugar and peeled almonds.

Of course, together with these simple and precious ingredients it took all the technical expertise and creative flair of the inventor, as well as a slow and laborious procedure that lasted and still lasts more than nine hours today, for which manual intervention was and remains irreplaceable.

Even today, the Garzotto family produces the Mandorlato with the traditional method of its ancestors, using the best almonds, the precious honey of Zafferana Etnea and fresh eggs. No additives, no flavorings, no semi-finished products, only genuine ingredients from the same places: nothing has changed over time.
